DATA PRIVACY STATEMENT:

The MANAOAG WATER DISTRICT (MANWAD) commits to protect the privacy of the personal information of our consumers, employees and other stakeholders in connection with the water services. This privacy policy aims to inform any legal entity who has engaged / been engaged by MANAOAG WATER DISTRICT on how their personal data are being collected, stored, used, and shared in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (R.A. 10173) and its implementing rules and regulations.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND PROCESS

When you apply for or avail of any product or service that MANWAD offers or when you interact with our employees, we collect your personal information. This may include, among others:

  • Personal details such as your name, address (including nearest landmarks), contact numbers and specimen signatures.
  • Personal information connected with your MANAOAG WATER DISTRICT Customer Account such as your Customer Account Number.
  • Other personal details such as your one (1) pc. latest 2x2 picture and nearest accounts water bill.
  • Sensitive Personal Information such as your government-issued identification number which we use for identity verification purposes. If you are a senior citizen, we collect your OSCA/DSWD ID to establish your qualification for a senior citizen discount.
  • Images via CCTV when visiting our office.

We may also collect, use and keep your personal opinions, comments, concerns or suggestions made known to us via responses to our Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS) or any other interaction that you had with our employees.

WHY DO WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect your Personal Information for the following purposes:

  • To be used as basis for the assessment of whether your application meets requirements for a new water service application;
  • To install the requested new water service connection;
  • To create, administer and maintain your customer account with the District;
  • To be used as reference for communication related to the application process, consumption and billing, notices and other such documents necessary for continued use of our products and services;
  • To enable the District to respond to queries, requests, complaints and other consumer’s concerns;
  • To be used in continually improving the District’s services and how we interact with you;
  • To comply with government, and other regulatory requirements;
  • To establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, and;
  • Perform other such as activities permitted by law or with your consent.

HOW DO WE COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION

Broadly speaking, we collect your personal information only when give your consent by signing our consent form and when you provide it directly to us.

Specifically, we collect Personal Information from you through your filled out Job Order Form and Application and Contract for Water Service Form, the documents and forms bearing your personal information that you submit to us or was acquired by us with your authorization. If you are a senior citizen, we also collect information through your filled out Application for Senior Citizen Discount Availment Form and the documentary requirements submitted. We also collect information when you communicate with us through phone, e-mail and/or other means of communication chosen and utilized by the District.

HOW DO WE COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION

Subject to the provisions of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and with your consent, we may share and disclose your Personal Information to the following:

  • Third party suppliers and service providers that we engaged to, to help us improve our services to the extent provided in their contract.
  • Government authorities and such entities that may have legitimate and legal interest in the information, in response to a legal request such as a search warrant, court order or subpoena, if we believe in good faith that we are required to do so under the law.

Your Personal Information will be shared for the following purposes:

  • To install your new water service connection;
  • To perform meter reading and billing services;
  • To communicate and to respond to service, billing and other consumer concerns;
  • To carry out data collection and analysis for the continuous improvement of the Districts services;
  • MANAOAG WATER DISTRICT staff who may require it to perform official duties
  • Third parties that support the services we provide
  • Anyone you give us permission to share it with
  • Official organizations concerned with the detection and prevention of criminal activities

Your personal information shall never be sold and we take measures to keep your information safe and secure.

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS AS A DATA SUBJECT

As data subject, you may exercise the following rights under the Data Privacy Act:

  • Request a copy of the information we have
  • Inform us to refrain from using your information
  • Dispute the inaccuracy of the information and have it corrected
  • Suspend, withdraw, or order the removal of the information entirely
  • Be compensated for any damages sustained by incorrect, false, unlawfully obtained, or unauthorized use of your information

No Personal Information shall be collected without your consent. If you wish to withdraw consent to the collection of your Personal Information, kindly give us reasonable notice to allow time to cease any and all processing.

Any information to be provided by you shall always be in clear and plain language, to ensure that the information is easy to understand and access.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

Your Personal Information shall be retained for as long as the purpose for which it was collected, and such other purposes that you may have consented to from time to time, remains in effect and until such time as it is no longer required nor necessary to keep your information for any other legal, regulatory or business purposes.

Personal Information provided to us by you shall be disposed or discarded in a secure manner that would prevent further processing, unauthorized access, or disclosure to any other party, or prejudice the interest of our consumers and other stakeholders.

We fully recognize the value of your personal information particularly as it may include sensitive personal information such as your gender, government-issued IDs, and others. All personal information collected is held in a secured database. Though it is impossible to guarantee the security of any computer system, we commit to maintaining and implementing robust and appropriate security policies designed to uphold confidentiality of all private information

We may modify or amend this Privacy Statement from time to time to keep up with any changes in relevant laws and regulations applicable to us or how we collect, use, protect, store, share or dispose of your personal information. Any relevant updates will posted on the MANWAD website and office.

  • Serve our customers from Mondays to Fridays, 8:00am to 5:00pm, and on Saturdays 8:00am to 12:00nn. We observe “No noon break policy”.
